Occupational Therapy considers the whole person, as well as the environmental barriers affecting health and wellness. The goal of therapy is to provide an individualized service that enhances function while promoting health, happiness and vitality. I have a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from McGill University, and am a Registered Occupational Therapist in New Brunswick. I belong to the New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists as well as the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. I have 10 years and counting of experience working with clients in their homes and nursing homes, and have been using an osteopathic approach in a separate part time practice for two and a half years. Occupational Therapy is a regulated profession.
Osteopathic Manual Practice is a holistic approach that promotes the body’s own self-healing ability through the use of gentle techniques that can reduce pain, and improve alignment, mobility and energy levels. I have completed my 5 years of clinical (hands-on and theoretical) training, and am currently working on a thesis to complete DOMP certification with the Halifax campus of The College D'Etudes Osteopathiques a Montreal. My goals are to reduce the barriers to daily function / quality of life through acute pain management, reducing physical limitations, chronic pain management, and wellness promotion.
